Introducing DadOpoly – The Game!!!!
DadOpoly is a family-friendly board game with a dad twist. Inspired by the classic property-trading format we all know, DadOpoly swaps skyscrapers and railroads for dad jokes, backyard barbecues, and all the chaos and comedy of fatherhood. It’s designed to bring families together for screen-free fun, spark laughter across generations, and celebrate the everyday adventures of being a dad.
How did it all begin, you ask?
Well, I will tell you. About fifteen years ago, just after my son was born, I wrote and published a children’s book. It was called If Daddy Spoke Baby and was a fun little project filled with humor and heart.
If Daddy Spoke Baby!
A rhyming story about how great it would be ‘if daddy spoke baby.’ This is a fun read for a dad to read to baby. It has bright colors and big pictures and is a nice story. A great book for a daddy to read to baby! because “I Love Being Your Dad!”
Then came project #2: DadOpoly — a dad’s take on the classic property-trading board game. I made some rough designs, a few cards, and a prototype made from cardboard, duct tape, and a pizza box!

DadOpoly Version 1.0
I am currently working on version 847.3.
Then life happened. Raising a son. Traveling. Working full-time. On and on. Like so many dads, I was juggling everything, and the idea for DadOpoly ended up on a shelf — literally.
Rediscovering the Dream
Fast forward to last year. While going through old boxes, I found those original designs and prototypes. I showed them to Nico, and we laughed about the early ideas.
At the same time, we were all deep into a season of board games and playing cards (we’re definitely game people). And in today’s world — where we’re all trying to keep kids off screens — the timing felt perfect to create a board game that celebrates being a dad.
So, I put a plan together and started to execute!
From Concept to Creation
Turning the DadOpoly board game into reality has been anything but a straight path. The first step was finding the right artist. After an extensive search, I connected with Ron Leishman from Toonaday. Ron’s artistic style and drawings were exactly what I had in mind — fun, colorful, and approachable.

From there, it was a matter of building the world of DadOpoly:
- Identifying property names
- Writing and designing the cards
- Creating the rules
- Building a prototype
- Finding a manufacturer
I quickly learned there’s a lot more to making a board game than just dreaming it up — from design and marketing to legal and accounting work. All things to tackle!
Finding the Perfect Partner
After another exhaustive search, we signed with Late For the Sky, an Ohio based game manufacturer specializing in Opoly style games. They are well known for fun themed Opoly games like CAT-Opoly, Wine-Opoly, and America-Opoly! They also have a slew of state and college Opoly games, such as New York-Opoly, Boston-Opoly, and Penn State-Opoly (We Are… ) . They also have a wide range of Dog-Opoly games, such as Pug-Opoly, Lab-Opoly, and Pit Bill-Opoly! Like I said, they specialize.
We are working with their design team right now to bring DadOpoly to life!
What’s Next for DadOpoly
We’re launching DadOpoly under the DimDads brand, and I believe it’s the perfect gift for birthdays, Father’s Day, holidays, and even baby showers. Our first run will be available on Amazon, but my hope is to see it expand far beyond that.
Our goal is simple: create moments that matter! DadOpoly isn’t just about rolling dice — it’s about laughing with your family, making memories, and keeping game night alive. It is much more than your typical property trading game. This one is full of fun challenges, funny moments, and bonding experiences.
