Dad Words Matter…
You think they’re zoned out.
You think they’re not paying attention.
But they are.
Every word you say—about them, about their mom, about the guy who cut you off in traffic—sticks.
You’re not just talking.
You’re teaching.
Every sentence builds their inner voice.
When you tell them they’re lazy?
They start to believe it.
When you say they’re strong, kind, or capable?
They start to believe that too.
This isn’t about walking on eggshells.
It’s about speaking with intent.
Call them out, sure.
But build them up more.
Correct without crushing.
Disagree without disrespect.
Joke without making them the punchline.
Your voice becomes their soundtrack.
So ask yourself—what are they hearing on repeat?
You don’t need a script.
Just aim for this:
Speak like it echoes.
Because it does.
